I’m a Jets fan, and as a result don’t think much of them as a team. I’ve also expressed my skepticism about the idea that Brett Favre is doing more for this revamped offense than Chad Pennington could have. Sunday’s 34-13 slaying of the previous undefeated Titans went a ways towards changing both those opinions.

It sure looks like Mike Mussina is “retiring.” I use the inverted commas because retirement is a slippery thing for an athlete–especially a great athlete–and admits of many fine distinctions.

At 0-2, I expected big things out of San Diego tonight against the Jets. But at least Favre and the Jets offense are making the the 4th quarter watchable, recovering an onside kick and scoring on a drive without running the ball–or even having a player in the backfield–once.
